Saturday night featured a matchup between the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers, against the Chicago Bulls in the United Center. LeBron James came up with a highlight play early in the game, as the four-time league MVP skied to the rim for a monstrous jam.

Here's a look at LeBron rising up for an awe-inspiring two-handed slam down the middle, via ClutchPoints on Twitter:

Kudos to Anthony Davis for that awesome bounce pass as the Bulls defense collapsed on him down low. Clearly, the AD-Bron connection was on point on Saturday against Chicago.

For his part, Davis hasn't been too pleased with how he's been playing over the past few games. This resulted in a rather harsh-self assessment from the All-Star big man. Needless to say, Davis came into the Bulls matchup looking for some redemption, especially since he was playing in his home city.

As for LeBron, he's been nothing short of amazing for the Lakers to start the season. The 37-year-old has been putting up averages of 24.4 points (on 48.3 percent shooting), 7.8 rebounds, and 7.6 assists, while also connecting on a career-best 2.6 triples per game on a 39.6-percent clip. James had led the Lakers to a 12-4 record entering Saturday's contest against Chicago.
