The Scotiabank Arena had an electrifying game on tap Thursday, as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers took on Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.

In a battle between two of the NBA's biggest supertars, James and Leonard went blow-for-blow in the stat sheets. LeBron came away with a bit of an edge over Kawhi, with the former tallying 29 points on 12-of-23 shooting along with four rebound and six assists versus the latter's 25 points (8-of-20), eight boards and four dimes.

However, James and his crew still fell short of a victory as the Raptors cruised to a 111-98 home win.

Speaking to the media after the game following another disheartening loss, the four-time MVP still had nothing but respect for his elite rival.

James and Leonard both possess tremendous skill and knowledge on both ends of the floor that few NBA players can match. In turn, watching the two masters of offense and defense go at it will always be a spectacle that's the equivalent of a physical chess match.

There's no denying that James is still performing at peak level despite the lack of support that he's getting from his teammates. Meanwhile, Leonard's team is more complete and in sync, leading to the Raptors to trapping The King ito another checkmate for at least one night.

It'll always be a delight watching two NBA greats go against one another. Fans can only hope for another dream showdown between the two in the near future with more at stake; preferably with the Lakers and Raptors squaring off on the grandest stage of them all at The Finals.
