Long before the arrival of LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers had always been the NBA's center of attention. The rise of Magic Johnson and the “Showtime” Lakers was truly what catapulted them from a marquee franchise to the biggest one in the association.

HBO's latest series focused on late Lakers owner Jerry Buss and the arrival of Magic Johnson has fans buzzing. Add LeBron James to the list of excited spectators to see the show. He dropped an enthusiastic reaction to seeing the trailer for the very first time, complete with multiple fire emojis.

“WOW!!!! I can’t wait for this,” exclaimed the Lakers star. “The myth, The man, The LEGEND! Dr. Buss and his magic man Magic Johnson!”

The Lakers series stars John C. Reilly as Jerry Buss and relative newcomer Quincy Isaiah playing the role of Magic Johnson.

Coming off last year's fascination with Michael Jordan's The Last Dance documentary that chronicled the rise of his 90s era Chicago Bulls, there's clearly a desire to revisit some of these legendary runs in NBA history.

No doubt one day we'll be fervently awaiting a series for LeBron James himself, but until then the Lakers star is satisfied watching his predecessors on the small screen while he continues to build his own story on the court.
