If there's one constant thing in the world, it's LeBron James being named as an NBA All-Star. The midseason spectacle would be totally incomplete without the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. It's like The Wire without Omar Little. Or Taylor Swift without a boyfriend.

On Thursday, LBJ was officially named as a starter of the Western Conference, joining Stephen Curry, Ja Morant, Andrew Wiggins, and Nikola Jokic. It will be his 18th straight time to start the NBA All-Star Game, the most by any player in league history.

LeBron took to Twitter to react to his latest milestone, giving a shoutout to his mom, Gloria James.

Even though the Lakers have been struggling, LeBron has been the lone consistent bright spot. The 37-year-old megastar once again topped the voting and will serve as team captain for the fifth straight year.

He also tied Lakers great Kobe Bryant for second-most NBA All-Star appearances, just one behind the 19 stints of another Lakers legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It will be interesting if LeBron will gun for a fourth NBA All-Star MVP plum and tie Kobe and Hall of Fame center Bob Pettit on the top ladder.

But for now, LeBron will need to focus on the Lakers' campaign, as they've been on a frustrating whirlwind with a 24-24 record as of writing, which is no. 9 in the Western Conference.
