The Los Angeles Lakers held out some of their key starters during Friday's preseason game versus the Los Angeles Clippers, allowing Talen Horton-Tucker to steal the show. Following Horton-Tucker's stellar performance, LeBron James took to Twitter to praise the second-year forward.

Frank Vogel, with the Lakers focused on the regular season, decided to sit James and Anthony Davis against the Clippers. As a result, Talen Horton-Tucker received more minutes at small forward, and it's safe to say he didn't disappoint.

Horton-Tucker led all players in the game with 19 points while playing 37 minutes. He also contributed nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals as the Lakers defeated the Clippers, 87-81.

Just last season, Horton-Tucker had an extremely limited role as a rookie for Los Angeles. The second-round pick out of Iowa State played in only six games, scoring a total of 34 points and accounting for eight steals.

Despite his minuscule minutes, members of the Lakers continued to rave about Horton-Tucker and what his potential could be. During last season's playoff series against the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles deployed Horton-Tucker to provide a spark off the bench.

Throughout the offseason, the Lakers added even more talent with Wesley Matthews, Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol. Given that, there may not be many minutes for Horton-Tucker, especially with Alex Caruso, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma absorbing most of the bench minutes.

Nevertheless, Horton-Tucker's length at the forward spot could add another dimension to the Lakers when they need him. And it's apparent that LeBron James is a huge fan of what THT could become in Los Angeles.
