Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been taking a lot of heat after claiming that the Celtics fans are “racist as f–k.” The King just guaranteed that he's going to be Public Enemy No. 1 for Boston supporters this coming season, and likely for the foreseeable future.
Former Celtics big man Glen Davis, who helped Boston win the title in 2008, has chimed in on LeBron's controversial statement. In a recent guesting on the All The Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Davis took a shot at James over his slander toward Celtics fans:
“I love Bron,” Davis said (h/t Jonathan Sherman of Cavaliers Nation). “Bron’s a great guy. I love what he’s doing. It was just crazy to guard that motherf—–. He be crying though. He be crying. Don’t worry, he be crying, but he be playing hard. But he still be crying.”
This is tough talk coming from a guy whose nickname is Big Baby. In this particular instance, Davis is claiming that it's LeBron who's being a crybaby by taking a dig at Celtics supporters. Davis did acknowledge how much respect he has for the Lakers superstar, but this did not stop him from calling James a “baby” multiple times.
To be fair, LeBron James' shot at Boston fans was pretty vicious. He got brutally honest about how he feels about them and he wasn't shy about broadcasting his thoughts. This obviously won't sit well with Celtics fans, and it will be interesting to see what type of reception LeBron gets the next time he heads to Boston.
