Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James gave fans quite a scare after he appeared to sustain some sort of hand injury against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, James seemed to have some discomfort in his right elbow, which forced Frank Vogel to call for a time out. The Lakers forward was immediately checked by athletic trainer Mike Mancias. Apparently, LeBron sustained the injury after a hit with Warriors guard Jordan Poole.

Fortunately, the issue doesn't seem to be serious as James was able to return to the floor and make his free throws.

LeBron James has been carrying the Lakers on his own amid Anthony Davis' injury and Russell Westbrook's struggles, so it is certainly bad news for the Purple and Gold if they lose their leader at this point of the season.

The Lakers are barely hanging on the ninth seed for the Play-In spot. If they lose LeBron to a significant injury and continue their slide, the prospect of missing the playoffs entirely is a real possibility.

Hopefully the elbow issue won't be a lingering problem for LeBron. He's still clearly hurt by it, but he knows the team needs him for them to have any chance at winning.

At 37 years old, LeBron is averaging 28.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. Unfortunately, Father Time is catching up to him and he can no longer be as impactful as he once was. Injuries don't help his case either.

For now, Lakers fans can only hope for the best for their superstar.
