Los Angeles Lakers legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson had some parting shots for the Los Angeles Clippers after they were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets, 89-104, in Game 7 of their West semifinals series on Tuesday.

Pegged as title favorites prior to the start of the season after the arrival of perennial All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers blew a 3-1 series lead over the Nuggets and failed to set up the “Battle of LA” with the Lakers in the conference finals.

Magic Johnson couldn’t help but pour some salt in the wound of the Doc Rivers-mentored team with this savage tweet.

After getting the better of the Purple and Gold in their first two regular-season encounters, the Clippers proclaimed themselves as the best team in Los Angeles. The Lakers did avenge those two losses by taking their next two meetings.

Magic then reminded the Clippers that they are still nowhere near the Lakers’ success, particularly with their inability to reach at least the Conference Finals. The All-Time great point guard pointed out that the Clippers team also couldn't get the job done back in 2015.

After a sizable lead early in the game, the Clippers once again blew that advantage and were completely blown out by Denver in the second half. A big reason for their letdown was the poor performance of Leonard and George who combined for just 24 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists. The dynamic Nuggets duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, on the other hand, completely torched the Clips with a combined output of 56 points, 26 rebounds, and 18 assists between them.

Magic, of course, had to also point this one out.

Furthermore, he congratulated the entire Nuggets franchise for a job well done and urged the current Lakers squad to give their all against the hungry third-seeded team.
