The Los Angeles Lakers still have plenty of moves to make, but Magic Johnson has made it clear it'll be him making the final calls at the end of the day.

After three consecutive signings of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee, and Lance Stephenson (all on one-year deals), fans started to question just who was behind these moves.

The Hall of Famer clarified this rather quickly during Friday's press conference.

“We're gonna go to LeBron and say hey if there's a deal to be made or a guy's available, ‘What do you think about this guy?'” That's how it was when he played w/ Jerry West and Dr. Buss. “The ultimate decision-maker … is me,” said Johnson assertively, according to Bill Oram of The Athletic.

Johnson was brought to the Lakers organization to be the face of the front office, and that strategy has worked so far, luring the biggest free agent available in the market.

LeBron James will be able to steer the wheel when it comes to decisions, but it will be Johnson sailing the ship, as his job title states.

The president will be tasked with making decisions and while consulting with his best player is surely a good idea, it is he, not James, who will have to answer to controlling-owner Jeanie Buss at the end of the day.
