Former NBA star Paul Pierce will forever be a hooper. Even in retirement, he makes sure he stays in the game. Just recently, he attended the jersey retirement ceremony of former Boston Celtics teammate Kevin Garnett.

But sometimes, Pierce also makes himself relevant by spewing hot takes about various NBA topics. On Thursday, in a rather random moment, the Celtics legend took to Twitter to share his top five NBA players of all-time, namely Garnett, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Shaquille O'Neal.

Pierce, quite noticeably, didn't include the late Kobe Bryant, who many consider as one of the five greatest players in NBA history. Curiously, Pierce chose LeBron over Kobe, and it's no secret that The Truth didn't like The King too much when he was still with the Celtics.

But on the other hand, it seems Pierce was picking by position, and of course, MJ would obviously take the slot at shooting guard (unless you're Isiah Thomas), unfortunately leaving Kobe on the side.

Pierce also made sure to clarify that he chose the five guys because they are the “most inspirational players ever.”

Curiously, in an appearance on ESPN in 2020, Pierce said LeBron is not a top-five NBA great. At that time, his list included Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Bill Russell, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The former Celtics All-Star said he excluded LBJ because he hasn't “build up any organization from the ground.”

Well, it looks like Pierce has changed his mind. Ask him again next year.
