One-time NBA champion Richard Jefferson has recently come out to say that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will be entering the new season as a man with a mission. In his mind, the now-retired 39-year-old believes that this objective of LeBron's will be to “destroy as many people as possible.”

Jefferson is not holding back here, as he declared how he believes LeBron will set out to prove to the world that he is still the best player in the game today.

Jefferson has some very valid points here, saying that James will be highly-motivated by all the chatter that has developed following his failed first season with the Lakers. Many are now doubting LeBron and his capabilities, and quite frankly, at 34 years of age and coming off of an injury-ridden season, it's hard to blame the doubters.

However, this is the very thing that has fueled LeBron throughout his career, and having been a first-hand witness to the mentality James brings to the court every single day, Jefferson definitely knows what he's talking about here.

It is worth noting, however, that in his statement, Jefferson started off with one very important assumption — one that will perhaps stand out as the primary defining factor on how well LeBron will perform this season. Jefferson started by saying that James will be able to do all this if he is healthy, and we could not agree more.

LeBron seems to have completely gotten over the groin injury tat hampered him for the most part of last season, but still, he will need to remain healthy and injury-free for the season ahead. If he succeeds in this regard, then Jefferson's bold prediction might just come to fruition.
