Russell Westbrook is a man of the people. However, even the Los Angeles Lakers star has his limits.

On Friday, Russ took a swipe at a random fan following the Lakers' preseason loss to Stephen Curry and the Warriors. Westbrook wanted to give his game-worn kicks to a kid when a man tried to grab the pair off of him. Russ had no other choice but to fend off the man (h/t Bleacher Report on Instagram):

The Lakers guard didn't hit the guy and his slap was more of a gesture rather than an actual attempt to swat the fan. He just wanted to make sure that his shoes went to one of the kids in the audience. To be fair, you can't really hate on the guy for shooting his shot with Westbrook. Russ' game-worn kicks during his Lakers debut (albeit in the preseason) is a pretty valuable piece of memorabilia.

Unfortunately for Westbrook, his Lakers debut did not exactly go according to plan. He got the start, but he ended up scoring just two points on 1-of-7 shooting. To make matters worse, the former MVP racked up six turnovers in just 17 minutes of play. Needless to say, it was a forgettable first outing for Russ.
