Hall of Fame and former Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal spent eight seasons as Kobe Bryant's teammate, and through the championships and feuds, he was still friends with the recently departed star shooting guard.

O'Neal, 47, is grieving the loss of Bryant and the lifelong Laker's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, along with seven others who perished in the Jan. 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

The current NBA on TNT analyst and former Lakers star spoke on his own podcast how he's feeling, and via “The Breakfast Club”s Angela Yee, he's “sick right now.”

“I'm not doing well. I'm sick. I'm just getting over the death of my sister. And I haven't been sleeping after Ayesha's death because — not thinking about just the good times, but the times when I could have did something, or could have did something different, or could have loved her more.

“And the same thing hit when I found out this news. I didn't do anything; I haven't eaten, I haven't slept. I'm sick right now.”

O'Neal's sister Ayesha Harrison-Jex passed away in October 2019 after a fight with cancer. The four-time NBA champion center has been battling trouble sleeping and eating from grieving the death of his sister and now former Lakers teammate Bryant, who leaves behind longtime wife Vanessa and three daughters, including a seven-month-old Capri, born last June.

The NBA suspended and postponed Tuesday night's game between the Lakers and Clippers matchup, instead deciding to give both organizations time to mourn Bryant's sudden and tragic passing.

Players around the league are choosing to change their numbers if they wear donning Nos. 8 and 24, with Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie and Orlando Magic wing Terrence Ross opting to never wear Bryant's No. 8 from the first half of his twenty-year career.
