The Los Angeles Lakers' sophomore guard in Talen Horton-Tucker came out to play once again and balled out in their second consecutive preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. After his impressive performance, the former Iowa State product only expressed his gratitude for the valuable experiences that he has already gained in the early stages of his young professional career.

“I look at it as a blessing,” Horton-Tucker said via ESPN. “It's actually crazy because I feel like what other 19-, 20-year-old gets this experience in the world? Not too many. So just being able to take everything in and learn from it every day, seeing other superstars kind of notice it is actually pretty good.”

Despite not being a highly-touted prospect out of college, THT didn't need to look far for inspiration as he continues to learn from his teammate Alex Caruso who had a unique path to the league over the past few years.

“Everybody's journey is different, but I just feel like AC is a pretty good one,” Horton-Tucker said. “Just being able to see him next to me everyday, it gives you a good measuring stick to see where you are individually. So just being able to have a guy like that and see the success that he's had, it gives me confidence in myself that I can do the same thing.”

Similar to Caruso, Horton-Tucker was also assigned to the team's G League affiliate squad in the South Bay Lakers for the most part of his rookie campaign last season. After seeing limited action in the Orlando Bubble, the sophomore seemed poised to make the jump to the next level for the coming season.

He's already made Twitter go bonkers in the previous matchup with the Clippers in which he put up 19 points, nine boards, and four assists. Horton-Tucker followed it up with a monster tally of 33 points, 10 rebounds, and four dishes through 41 minutes played in their second-consecutive victory against their hallway rivals.

Talen Horton-Tucker has been maximizing every opportunity that is being given to him and it won't be surprising anymore if he eventually emerges as a young star in the league moving forward.
