Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel understands that his superstar LeBron James has already paired up with plenty of dynamic players in the past — including Dwyane Wade and Kyrie Irving, just to name a few. The Purple and Gold mentor, however, explained why The King's current tandem with Anthony Davis will go down as the most perfect partnership in his storied career.

“He has the perfect persona for this team and the perfect persona to complement LeBron James,” the Lakers coach described Anthony Davis in an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“His demeanor is one of confidence, but one that will listen. One that wants to continue to learn to get better, while still understanding that he's one of the best players in the game. And the way he has partnered with LeBron in terms of supporting each other, challenging each other, it's obviously been a huge part of our success this year.

While superstars who team up for the first time usually don't gel immediately, that wasn't the case for Bron and AD from the get-go. The perennial All-Stars stamped their class since the beginning of the 2019-20 NBA regular season, leading the Lakers back to the top of the Western Conference with a 52-19 slate.

The fearsome twosome elevated their games further come playoff time, as the team is now just four wins away from their 17th championship banner.

LeBron and AD are no doubt the most intimidating one-two punch in the entire league right now. The last time the Lakers had a tandem this good was way back in the 2000s during the glorious Shaq and Kobe days.

Frank Vogel's assumptions, meanwhile, are certainly spot on as evidenced by the great chemistry between his two best players. A Larry O'Brien trophy will further solidify James and Davis' claim as one of the best tandems in NBA history.
