So much for the dissolution of Big Baller Brand. According to celebrity gossip site TMZ, LaVar Ball is in the process of expanding the company despite a recent scandal involving one of its original founders that cost the business and Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball millions of dollars.

“But now, we've learned LaVar is in the process of building a new BBB team with plans to get back into the sportswear game and expand into other markets as well,” TMZ reports. “He's already made some key hires. Our sources tell us LaVar and his team are currently working on a battle plan and hope to get everything up and running again very soon.”

In late March, the Ball family severed ties with close family friend and business partner Alan Foster after he allegedly embezzled as much as $1.5 million from Big Baller Brand. Lonzo Ball immediately left the company, signing an endorsement deal with Nike and going so far as to cover up the Big Baller Brand tattoo on his arm with a pair of dice.

On the most recent episode of HBO's The Shop, executive-produced by Lakers superstar LeBron James, Ball opened up about the scandal and its personal fallout for he and his family.

“He was like my second dad. He was way more than that, though,” he said of Foster. “Like, I bought my mom and dad a house — he had a room in there.”

Expect LaVar Ball to take a more cautious approach with building his brand this time around. Whether he'll be able to do it successfully without the support of his oldest son, though, remains to be seen.
