After completing the Anthony Davis blockbuster trade, the Los Angeles Lakers will now reportedly shift their focus on signing Charlotte Hornets free agent point guard Kemba Walker.

Walker averaged 25.6 points, 5.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game last season, good enough for him to make it to the All-NBA third team.

The 29-year-old guard recently said that the Hornets will be his priority this summer, noting that he's willing to take less money in order for them to be more competitive. However, in his eight years in the league, he hasn't had much success in Charlotte, so a Lakers team with Davis and LeBron James would surely be an enticing option for him.

The Lakers are in win-now mode. Their other plan of going after Kevin Durant or Klay Thompson has been scrapped as well because of the serious injuries they suffered during the NBA Finals.

LA has missed the playoffs for six straight seasons, and the addition of AD — and potentially Kemba — will not only help them break that streak but also turn them into instant favorites to win the NBA championship next season.

Moreover, if the Lakers successfully acquire Walker this summer, their long-term success will be secured, as he and Davis are just under 30.

LeBron guaranteed Lakers fans that they will become champions during his tenure. Now that they have AD, plus the fact that they could land another star this summer, it is time for the four-time MVP to deliver.
