The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be entering the new season with a clean slate. The arrival of new head coach Darvin Ham spells a new era for LeBron James and Co., which also includes a bit of an overhaul with the coaching staff.

According to Lakers team insider Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, assistant coach Quinton Crawford has decided to leave the purple and gold to join the coaching staff of Jason Kidd with the Dallas Mavericks:

Quinton Crawford is leaving the Lakers as an assistant coach to join Dallas coach Jason Kidd's staff, sources said. Crawford is viewed as an up-coming/ bright coach in the NBA. He was an assistant under Frank Vogel with the Lakers the past 3 seasons; was on staff for 2020 title.

As the above report states, Crawford was an assistant to Frank Vogel. The 31-year-old was an integral piece of the staff during the Lakers' 2020 title run, and he is now taking his championship experience to Dallas.

It is worth noting that much like LA's other assistant coaches, Crawford was also overlooked during the Lakers' search for a new head coach. Now that Ham is sitting at the helm, it is clear that they're giving him as much autonomy as he wants, which should include the hiring of his own coaching staff.
