Marc Gasol hasn't exactly had the greatest stint thus far with the Los Angeles Lakers. With the latest move to sign former Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan, the writing may be on the wall for Big Spain.

According to Lakers beat reporter for The Athletic Jovan Buha, a parting of ways with Marc Gasol looks imminent:

“..The Lakers are once again investing in size and athleticism at the center position, adding Jordan to a mix that already features Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard. The signing likely spells the end of Marc Gasol’s tenure with the Lakers, as there is a clear logjam at the position and Gasol was already considering not returning.”

Marc Gasol still has a year left on his contract with the Lakers. But with the personnel currently on the roster, he may not want to stick around. There was already tension last season when LA made a move for fellow center Andre Drummond. Now with Jordan arriving, and Dwight Howard back in Los Angeles, the playing time just might not be there for him.

Gasol hard the worst season of his career with the Lakers last year, averaging just 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds, while playing a shade under 20 minutes per contest. All those figures are by far career lows for the 3-time All-Star.
