VIDEO: Lakers’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope gets the chasedown block on Landry Shamet’s breakaway layup
The Los Angeles Lakers looked to defend their home floor against the Clippers in the battle of LA during Christmas. There was a key defensive highlight during that matchup that stuck out and it involved Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. When Landry Shamet leaked out in transition, Caldwell-Pope made sure to run the floor hard and prevent the easy score. Instead of fouling, KCP managed to pull off an impressive chase-down block. It was a timely contribution to prevent the Clippers from making it a one-point game.

There has been plenty of criticism for Caldwell-Pope during his time with the Lakers and one defensive highlight obviously isn’t going to change a full body of work. At the very least, it’s favorable for the Lakers that he is making it a point to give it his all defensively, whether the results are always there or not.
