The New York Liberty improved their record to 14-3 on the young WNBA season with a big win over the LA Sparks at home on Saturday. Afterward, Breanna Stewart of the Liberty had candid comments on how it all went down at the Barclays Center.

The Stewart interview occurred amid Sabrina Ionescu's admission on a bonkers Jonquel Jones stat. A revisitation of the Liberty's tough loss to the Phoenix Mercury was also released.

Stewart got real after Saturday's game with thoughts on her team's effort vs. the Sparks.

Stewart had a career high in blocks with six. She said that her goal was to do whatever she could to pick her teammates up.

She also spoke about the Liberty's barrage of three-pointers recently, saying that it “feels like the roof comes down” in the Barclays Center when the three-pointers start raining. Stewart, Jones, and Kayla Thornton's Liberty are now off to a franchise-best 14-3 start on the season.

Next Up For Liberty

The Liberty are set to tussle with the Atlanta Dream on June 23 and June 30, a back-to-back slate of games that will show just how far Stewart and her Liberty teammates have come. New York has won with defense, they've won with offense, and they've won by unleashing the three-ball in ways that would make Caitlin Clark jealous.

The Liberty have had four leading scorers so far on the season, showing their balance: Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton. They've also gotten multiple leading rebounder and assists leaders on the year including Leonie Fiebich in rebounding once and Courtney Vandersloot in assists.

The Liberty's outstanding depth and strength in numbers approach has them positioned as a league favorite headed toward the All-Star Break and Summer Olympics. Now it's incumbent upon Stewart, Jones and company to continue to pick each other up during times of stress as there are still plenty of tall tasks ahead of them this season.
