The Detroit Lions have found their next offensive coordinator as they have hired former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

Bevell was the offensive play caller for the Seahawks from 2011-2017 and was with the team when they won the Super Bowl back in 2013. Bevell helped lead the Seahawks to the league's best rushing team in the league for the 2018 season. The Seahawks lead the league with 2,560 yards and 160.0 yards a game. Perhaps the Lions organization is bringing Bevell on to unleash rookie Kerryon Johnson to his full potential now that the team finally has a promising running back once more.

Bevell will have some fantastic talent at his disposal with quarterback Matthew Stafford leading the way. Wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. are a fantastic tandem as well as Kerryon Johnson, who was the first running back to break 100 rushing yards since Reggie Bush years ago.

Bevell will likely have a whole new look and delivery with this offense now that he can not rely on Russell Wilson to scramble and get the offense out of jams. The Lions just recently parted ways with former offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, but the offense struggled mightily under his play calling at times. The Lions could benefit greatly from an offensive makeover, but Bevell will need to adapt quickly as it is nothing like what he is accustomed to.

Detroit will look to rebound after finishing last in the NFC North in 2018 and they will have their work cut out from them moving forward in a potentially stacked division.
