Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford recently sustained a thumb injury in their Week 10 encounter against the Washington Football Team. After undergoing tests after the game, the former Pro Browler was optimistic about his condition and is looking ahead to suit up for their Week 11 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“I did get some X-rays after the game and they were negative,” Lions QB Matthew Stafford said. “No fractures or breaks in there. A couple, I’m sure, tests throughout the week but, you know, I’m going to do everything I can to be out there. I’m going to do what I can. So I like my chances.”

The playmaker hurt his thumb in the first quarter but still managed to finish the game. The injury didn't seem to bother him as he tallied applaudable numbers of 276 yards on 24-of-33 passes completed along with three passing touchdowns. In addition, Stafford finished without a single turnover for the first time this season.

Rookie running back D'Andre Swift contributed in the team's aerial attack by recording 68 receiving yards on five touches and a scored touchdown while also generating 81 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones added 96 receiving yards on eight catches with a score on the endzone while Marvin Hall produced 61 yards on two receptions and a touchdown. Placekicker Matt Prater put the finishing touches on the game as he successfully converted a 51-yard field goal attempt to secure the 30-27 triumph for Motor City.

With his injury being diagnosed to be of minor severity, Matthew Stafford will look to lead the rest of the Lions to their second-straight victory and improve their 4-5 record in Week 11 against the Panthers.
