The Texas Longhorns have championship aspirations in 2023. Five-star QB Arch Manning's decision to attend the university garnered much public attention. According to 247sports.com, Texas recently became the No.2 2023 recruiting class after landing five-star wide receiver Johntay Cook II. Additionally five-star safety Derek Williams recently announced his commitment to the Longhorns.

Texas jumped past Notre Dame to land the No.2 spot in the 2023 class. They now trail only Ohio State. However, the Longhorns could pass them before too long. They currently have three total 5-star recruits while the Buckeyes have just two. But Ohio State does have 11 4-star recruits compared to Texas's mark of eight 4-star recruits.

The Longhorns are the only team in the top 50 with three five-star recruits committed to the school already. There is potential for a dynasty if they can continue adding stars for the future.

Arch Manning, related to Peyton and Eli Manning, made waves when he officially announced his commitment to Texas. Many expected him to attend Tennessee like Peyton or Mississippi like Eli Manning. But Texas ultimately was his final decision.

Johntay Cook II is an elite wide receiver. At 6'0 tall and 175 pounds, he will need to build up strength moving forward. But he reportedly has excellent quickness and good hands, per 247sports.

Manning and Cook II project to be a lethal duo at Texas for the Longhorns. They might end up being the next Ja'Marr Chase and Joe Burrow.

For now, both are focused on finishing their senior years and staying healthy. But the future is bright for the Longhorns' football program without question.
