Man City are well on their way to another Premier League title, but they're doing it without a true No. 9. That's exactly why the champions are so heavily linked to Borussia Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland, who is widely expected to leave Germany this summer.

While Real Madrid, Barcelona, and just about every other European giant are interested in the Norwegian, The Citizens are leading the race because of their relationship with his father, Alf Inge Haaland, who played at Man City for three seasons. He's reportedly telling his son to sign with Pep Guardiola's side, according to Football Insider.

In terms of fit, this would be the perfect move for Haaland. The world-class playmakers in the Man City squad, like Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and Bernardo Silva, will certainly be thrilled to have a legitimate center-forward leading their line. They would be putting goals on a platter for Haaland.

Los Blancos are also plotting a double swoop for Kylian Mbappe and Haaland, but it feels unlikely they'll be able to pull off both signings. It's no secret that Man City is backed by Arab owners who are going to have to problem splashing out €70 million to buy the Norway international.

Haaland is in the midst of another fine campaign in the Bundesliga, bagging 16 goals and tallying five assists in 14 league appearances. He's also scored another seven times in Europe and the DFB-Pokal. Aside from Robert Lewandowski, there simply isn't a more clinical finisher in world football right now than Erling Haaland. It's scary to think how much better Man City will be with him in their team, but it definitely feels like it could become a reality in the coming months.
