Manchester City saying goodbye to legendary striker Sergio Aguero this summer
Manchester City’s all-time leading goal-scorer, Sergio Aguero, will leave the club this summer when his contract expires, the team announced on Monday.
The Argentinian has scored 257 times in just 384 appearances for City across 10 seasons in what has been a brilliant career at the Etihad. Aguero also had six consecutive campaigns where he bagged 28+ goals, becoming one of only two players to ever pull off the feat in England’s top flight.

This season has been slightly rough for the striker as he was battling a knee injury that kept him out for most of the current campaign, but his role has been limited since returning to the pitch.
At 32-years old, Aguero’s best days are certainly behind him in Europe but there had been rumors he could return to Argentina to play for one of his boyhood clubs.
As for Man City, they’ve done just fine without the club legend, currently sitting 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Pep Guardiola’s side are also one of the heavy favorites to win the Champions League as they prepare for a two-leg quarterfinal encounter with Borussia Dortmund starting next week.
City will need to find a replacement for Aguero though in the upcoming transfer window and they’ve been linked to some big names. Dortmund phenom Erling Haaland is at the very top of their wishlist, but the Bundesliga outfit have slapped a hefty €180 million price tag on the Norwegian, which may scare away a host of European giants.
Frankfurt standout Andre Silva has also been said to be on the Citizens’ radar after a breakout season for the Eagles.
As for Sergio Aguero, his presence and impact in Manchester will never be forgotten as he will go down as arguably the best striker to ever play for the club. Best wishes to the legend.
