Johnny Juzang just forged his name into the UCLA record books right beside Kevin Love's 13-year-0ld school record. Juzang now has a total of 78 points in this year's NCAA tournament which is the most since Love's 99 points in 2008.

Since his surprise transfer from Kentucky to his hometown California, Juzang has been showcasing his offensive chops. Peep some of his scoring antics below in their game against BYU last week. Juzang fooled around and dropped 27 points to lead UCLA to a 73-62 victory.

Note that 17 of those points were knocked down in the first half. That's good proof that Juzang possessed the hot hand that night.

After the game, UCLA coach Mick Cronin shared his thoughts on Juzang. Per Jon Hale Louisville Courier-Journal, Cronin praised how Juzang has made great leaps in his game.

“Johnny is young,” he said, first highlighting the progress Juzang had made as a defender. “Last year he should have been a senior in high school. He's improved immensely. Part of it with him is it's my job to teach him how to do that stuff. And it takes time to train stuff. But he obviously had a huge game for us.”

From the looks of it, Juzang made the right move to transfer to UCLA from Kentucky. After all, he averaged just 2.9 points in 12.3 minutes last year in Kentucky. This season, Juzang is averaging 15.1 points per game. While there were some whispers regarding the real reason for his transfer, the California native made it clear that he wanted to be close to his loved ones during this pandemic.
