Dirk Nowitzki is easily the greatest Dallas Mavericks player of all time. Now, according to a recent story by Mike Fisher of DallasBasketball.com, Nowitzki might be a potential part-owner of the Mavs sometime in the future.

According to Fisher’s interview with Mark Cuban, the longtime owner of the Mavs and a notable entrepreneur, he would “absolutely” love to bring Dirk on board as a part-owner of the team.

“I'll have the convo with Dirk in the future. There is a lot of things involved to make it all work. But it would be awesome,” Cuban told Fisher in the story.

These comments from Cuban were made in response to Dirk Nowitzki’s exit interview following his final professional season last year when asked if he would be interested in being a part-owner of the team that he helped bring its only championship to in 2011.

Nowitzki is the Mavs’ all-time leader in win shares with a whopping 206.3, which is also 8th all-time in NBA history – mere percentage points behind his evergreen nemesis on the San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan.

Dirk leads the Mavs in an absolute cavalcade of categories when it comes to career plaudits, including games (1522), minutes played (51,368), field goals, (11,169), points (31,560), rebounds (11,489) and many others.

When you play for the same team for 21 seasons, you end up in that team’s record books fairly frequently. With those 21 seasons, Nowitzki broke Kobe Bryant’s record for playing his entire 20-plus year career with the same team.
