NBA analyst Charles Barkley believes that the Dallas Mavericks has a bright future ahead of them, especially since they have the promising tandem of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

Barkley was a guest at ESPN Dallas KESN FM, where he said that there won't be a better 1-2 punch in the league over the next 10 years than Doncic and Porzingis.

“I can't think of a better one-two punch going forward for the next 10 years.”

“The last time we saw Porzingis, we all thought he was going to be a star. We all know that Doncic is probably going to be the NBA Rookie of the Year. He deserves it. And so, I really like what Mark (Cuban) and the guys have done. I really do.”

“To get those two young pieces, I think the Mavs have done a really good job.”

The Hall of Famer added that although he's excited for the Mavs' performance next season, he believes that they still need a few more pieces for them to become a legitimate playoff contender.

“I like the Mavs' chances with (Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis). I think (the Mavs) are going to need one more piece. One more really good piece and some role players.”

Porzingis is expected to be at full strength next season after missing one and a half years due to injury. A lot of people are optimistic that he and Doncic will co-exist, which is one of the main reasons why the Mavs are projected to be one of the most exciting teams over the next few years.

The Mavs will target one of the mid-tier free agents this summer, as they hope to add either Kemba Walker or Khris Middleton to the team. If they succeed in doing that, then expect them to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
