A recent report revealed details on the inner workings of the Dallas Mavericks under former head coach Rick Carlisle. The report shed some light on the reason why Carlisle's relationships with Mavs players, specifically Luka Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr., began to deteriorate. Well, Smith saw the report and shared his own eye-opening take on Twitter.

That's crazy stuff from former Mavs guard and current Portland Trail Blazers player Dennis Smith Jr. Smith is saying that not only is the report on Rick Carlisle spot on, but he alludes to the fact that there was even more going on behind the scenes.
It's not hard to see why Smith, who was seen as a rising talent in the league during and before his tenure with Dallas, has no problems voicing his opinion on this story with Rick Carlisle. It directly affected his career when he was with the Mavs and arguably ruined any trust and chemistry he was beginning to build with Luka Doncic.
Not only that, but Smith obviously couldn't trust his head coach in Carlisle, who was pitting him against his friend, Luka Doncic. That all amounted to a very frustrating and emotional time for Smith in Dallas. And judging from his Twitter post, that's not all that Smith experienced.
It sure is eye-opening that an NBA player such as Dennis Smith Jr. had to deal with such an environment in Dallas created by an NBA head coach in Rick Carlisle.
