The whole basketball world can't wait to see how Kristaps Porzingis would look like once he makes his long-awaited return to the court after almost two years of absence due to injury. One of the many who are looking forward to his debut is his fellow Dallas Mavericks teammate Dwight Powell who, in an interview with Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, has seen the new and improved physique of the Latvian first hand and simply could not contain his excitement.

“He’s very good,” Powell said with a laugh. “He’s very, very good. I’m excited, very excited. He’s 7-foot-3 and he shoots it from anywhere, with ease. It’s kind of hard to affect that shot. He’s moving well, he’s at full-strength. He’s looking very good out there. We’re all very excited.”

Health has been the primary impediment for the 7-foot-3 forward-center as he missed a combined total of 132 games in his last three seasons. This includes sitting out the entire 2018-19 season as he continued to rehab from a torn ACL he suffered on a February 6, 2018 contest against the Milwaukee Bucks while still a member of the New York Knicks.

In response, Porzingis has been rebuilding his physical makeup to add more muscle mass and weight to fortify his body for the grueling seasons. How this will affect his speed and quickness is up in the air although if Powell is to be believed in the scrimmages they've participated in, this may not be a concern at all.
