Grant Williams has an ongoing beef with Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, which is why he loves the fact that the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic have a rivalry with the Arizona franchise and their young superstar.

The 24-year-old Williams recently admitted that Booker is someone who always talks trash to him whenever they face each other. While he's not sure about the reason why, he isn't someone to back down as well. With that said, Williams is looking forward to adding more to the rivalry between the Mavs and Suns and making it more intense.

“The one person that talks trash to me always, for some reason, is Devin Booker. Book always talks trash, and I remember if you look back at that Phoenix game during the regular season, it was in Phoenix, if you look at clips of it, from the start I'm talking. Because he said something after I hit a 3, and from then on it lit something in me. I was doing ‘Too Small,' ‘Rock the Baby' stuff like that, I think I scored 14 or 17 that game, maybe more, but I remember talking trash the entire game to Book. For some reason, he always likes to jaw and chirp,” Williams explained on JJ Redick's The Old Man & The Three podcast, via Dallas Morning News.

“I think that actually helps, because we're in Dallas now, and Phoenix and him and Luka already have this little beef going, whatever else you call it. I might be able to join in on some competitive vibes.”

Luka Doncic and Devin Booker's beef started in the 2021-22 season when the Mavs and Suns played each other in the conference semifinals. It was a pretty hard-fought series, which gave birth to plenty of memorable moments (at least for Dallas) and one viral meme that has so far stood the test of time.

It will surely be interesting to see Grant Williams and Doncic talk trash to Booker the next time they meet. There's no way the Suns scorer would back down as well, and so the rivalry could just enter a new chapter.

The Mavs will have to be a bit careful, though, especially with Phoenix retooling this offseason and adding Bradley Beal to the fold. Before the Mavs can talk, they will need to show the Suns they are the better team.
