Dallas Mavericks rookie forward Isaiah Roby, who recently autographed a microwave for a fan, is now talking about the Mavs' desire to make the playoffs.

In a fundraising event in Lincoln, Roby — the 45th overall pick by the Mavs in the 2019 NBA Draft — admitted that signing a microwave for a fan was a unique experience. With his help, they were able to raise $2,500 which will support the American Cancer Society and Habitat for Humanity.

“That's a first,” Roby said while laughing, Per 1011 Now: “I've never signed a microwave before!”

The Nebraska standout also shared what the Mavs' goals are, as head coach Rick Carlisle told them. Carlisle also laid out the specific aspects of his game that Roby needs to work on.

“Talking to (Mavericks coach Rick) Carlisle afterward, he gave me some things to focus on in order to make an impact on the team this year,” Roby added, per Francis Gardler of the Journal Star. “Our goal is to make the playoffs, so I'm going to do everything I can to do that.”

Last year, Dallas finished with a 33-49 record. They'll return with a new and improved roster led by budding stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. For the 21-year-old Roby, he's still in awe that he's now in the NBA and part of a team gunning for the playoffs.

It's definitely been a wild ride so far for Roby. The best part is that it's just the beginning. More things will happen as he embarks on his first season in the NBA.
