There were a lot of things that went wrong for the Dallas Mavericks in their Game 1 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. However, Jason Kidd highlighted one particular area they badly need to improve: 3-point shooting.

Dallas tried to fight Golden State in its own game, but the team failed big time. The Mavs attempted 48 shots from deep and made just 11 for a 22.9 percent shooting clip. The Warriors, for their part, went 10-of-29 from long-range–not so good but at least better than Luka Doncic and co.

Sure enough after the brutal loss, Kidd made it a point to emphasize their need to make their triples. If they can't, they'll surely be doomed in the series.

“When you shoot 48 threes, you've gotta make some,” Kidd said, per Sports Illustrated. “And we just didn't make them.”

Despite the poor performance from the Mavs, though, Jason Kidd remains confident that they can bounce back. He reminded his team and the Warriors just that, noting that they have always found a way to answer.

Sure enough, Dallas won't always shoot that bad from the 3-point line. And if the Warriors allow them to shoot that much from deep in Game 2, then they might find themselves on the receiving end of a blowout that time.
