In Friday's game against the Orlando Magic, Kristaps Porzingis etched his name on the Mavs' record books with his 24-point, 10-rebound, five-assist and five-block performance. The sharpshooting big man became only the second player in franchise history to achieve such numbers, following in the footsteps of NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki.

Porzingis was the third player this season to record the said stat line, joining Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis and now Cleveland Cavaliers big man Andre Drummond (previously with the Detrit Pistons).

The Mavs eventually blew out the Magic 122-106, improving to 19-8 on the road. While the Unicorn got things done on the defensive end, his teammate Luka Doncic led the team in offense. The first-time All-Star recorded a near triple-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Moreover, third-year forward Maxi Kleber also surprised Magic fans with a breakout game, registering a career-high 26 points off the bench.

Porzingis is having a solid season with Dallas after a rocky first three years with the New York Knicks. Now, if anything, the 7-foot-3 power forward is still developing his chemistry with Doncic.

The two share some history, mostly with getting their talents doubted. They are both foreign players and high lottery picks. Both have exceeded expectations since being drafted and are now slated to follow in the footsteps of Dirk Nowitzki who had a highly successful career with the Mavs.

With Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic leading the way, the Mavs are currently sitting at 34-22 on the season — seventh place in the Western Conference standings and tied with the sixth-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
