Dallas Mavericks forward Kristaps Porzingis clearly has a love for combat sports, in addition to his obvious affinity for the game of basketball.

Porzingis hosted a Twitter takeover of the Mavs' account on Sunday in order to answer fans' questions. One fan asked Porzingis for his favorite athletes, to which he responded by naming Kobe Bryant in addition to former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson and UFC star Conor McGregor.

Kobe's inclusion on the list is hardly a surprise. The late Los Angeles Lakers legend is a favorite player for a number of young stars who grew up with Bryant in the 2000s. He is also revered, especially among international players.

Meanwhile, Tyson might have been one of the most terrifying boxers ever during his prime, a knockout artist who could sit you down in seconds while also having the gall to bite off the ear of an opponent during the middle of a fight.

On the other hand, McGregor experienced a meteoric rise when he joined the UFC, eventually besting then-undefeated featherweight champion Jose Aldo before becoming the first two-division champion in the history of the company and fighting Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition.

It is interesting to learn of Kristaps' affinity for combat athletes, though he did in fact attend UFC 246 (where McGregor headlined) in Las Vegas. The Mavs big man would be quite a scary sight in the Octagon if he ever chose to develop mixed martial arts skills of his own.

In the meantime, Kristaps Porzingis and the rest of his Mavs teammates can only hope they have the chance to finish their surprising 2019-20 season as they wait out the coronavirus pandemic.
