Dallas Mavericks rookie phenom Luka Doncic made headlines a few weeks ago when the Mavs youngster said it's easier to score in the NBA than it is in Europe.

Monday night on NBA TV, the round table rookie discussion aired for the first time, and Doncic explained why he thinks it's easier to score over here compared to Europe, citing the bigger court in America and the three-second rule :

It would be pretty hard to score if big guys could just camp in the lane and not be penalized for it. The bigger NBA court also gives Doncic more room to operate on the perimeter.

The Mavs' floor general is the front runner for the 2019 Rookie of the Year award. Doncic is averaging 20.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for Dallas while shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Luka has 13 double-doubles and three triple-doubles on the season. The 19-year-old has scored over 30 points seven times and leads all rookies in points per game.

Luka Doncic has star potential. The Mavs are so confident with Doncic that they were content with trading point guard Dennis Smith Jr. to the New York Knicks in the Kristaps Porzingis trade.
