With the NBA set to resume its 2019-20 season on June 30, Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is preparing his mind and body before entering the bubble with the Mavs at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Although the Mavs' 21-year-old Croatian stud is excited about the prospect of finishing out the season, he also opened up about how “weird” it would be to play basketball without any fans in attendance. Per Dwain Price of Mavs.com:
“It's going to be weird, so I don't know how I'm going to feel,” Donic said via Zoom call. “Obviously it's going to feel really weird without the fans, but I'll just do the same routine, same as always.”
With Doncic up for MVP consideration in just his second season in the league, the Mavs raced to 40-27 record and are hanging on the 7th spot in the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
While they are in a good position to return to the postseason, the Mavs still need to do well in their remaining regular-season games to keep their slot.
Teams outside the top eight include the Trail Blazers, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, and Suns, and will all be gunning for the postseason ticket. The Mavs aren't in danger of missing the playoffs, should the season indeed conclude in August and give way to more basketball in late summer.
Luka Doncic, meanwhile, has been keeping himself in shape for the Mavs throughout the unprecedented hiatus brought upon the pandemic. Earlier reports claimed that the 6-foot-7 guard was out of shape, but the Dallas brass denied such claims by posting Doncic's workout regimen during the break.

The Mavs will indeed need Doncic to continue with his spectacular showing where he notched 28.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 1.1 steals in 54 games.
