Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has promised he's done with whining at referees that has caused him to rack up technical fouls. Interestingly, the Mavs leader has found a way to restrain himself .. and it's rather funny.

After Friday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Doncic opened up about the new trick he's using to keep himself and his emotions under control. That tactic? Singing.

The Mavs star says he's singing songs in his head as a form of restraint, and it's not the usual song for the matter. He's picking his favorite Slovenian or Serbian titles to let his frustrations pass.

“It’s a funny thing–I just start singing a song in my head. One of my favorite songs I pick and just start singing and let [the frustration] pass,” Doncic said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Luka Doncic already has 14 technical fouls this season, which means he's two away from an automatic one-game suspension without pay. After two technical fouls following his 16th tech in the regular season, he will also be suspended for one game without pay.

The Mavs still have 12 games left in the 2021-22 season, so Doncic really needs to be careful to avoid getting suspended. After all, the team can't afford to lose him at this crucial juncture where they could still fall in the play-in spots. At 43-27 on the season for fifth in the West, they are just one-and-half game ahead of the sixth-seeded Denver Nuggets and two-and-half games ahead of the seventh-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.

If the singing thing is working for the Mavs superstar, the fans have to be happy about it. They cannot let Luka get too emotional and rant at referees once again, so he needs to calm himself and channel his anger somewhere else.
