The Dallas Mavericks tipped off a virtual Media Week with none other than superstar Luka Doncic. There were more than a few topics of discussion, but one of the subjects that stood out was Doncic teasing about a potential future team-up on the Mavs with current Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

Doncic was jokingly asked to share his thoughts on a potential trade involving current teammate Boban Marjanovic and Jokic, and to no surprise, Doncic took the side of his teammate and good friend. Nevertheless, this did not stop him from teasing a future Mavs superteam that includes Jokic.

H/t Reddit user oloshh:

“I wouldn't trade anyone, I can't trade anyone,” Doncic said. “It's not my job. If Jokic wants to come over, he should come over. He knows he wants to.”

Doncic was clearly just messing around, and there are currently no rumors about the Mavs trading for Jokic — at least that we know of. Nonetheless, now that Doncic threw it out there, it's hard not to imagine what a duo of himself and Jokic would look like if they somehow became teammates in the future. Throw in a healthy Kristaps Porzingis and you have yourself a heavy favorite for an NBA title.

For what it's worth, Jokic is still under contract with the Nuggets through 2023. He is currently Denver's cornerstone superstar, but who knows, things may change two or three years down the road. In today's NBA, you can never really tell.
