Kristaps Porzingis recently suffered a left ankle sprain that will keep him sidelined on a week-to-week basis. As such, the 27-year-old was unable to take the floor on Tuesday night when the Washington Wizards visited the Dallas Mavericks. However, this did not prevent the Mavs from presenting their former star big man with a heartfelt tribute video in his return to Dallas.

The Mavs exhibited pure class with a touching minute-long video capturing some of Porzingis' most memorable moments during his time in Dallas. At the end of the video was a simple yet very endearing message for Kristaps: “Mavs family for life.”

Porzingis spent two and a half seasons with the Mavs before he was traded to the Washington Wizards prior to last season's trade deadline. In return, Dallas received Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans.

Now in his first full season with the Wizards, Porzingis has continued to wreak havoc on opposing defenses with his unique skillset. Right now, he's averaging 22.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting, to go along with 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 32.7 minutes per contest. He's also knocking down 1.9 triples per game, making him a potent threat from beyond the arc.

Kristaps Porzingis may have not achieved what he set out to when he joined Dallas a few years back, but it is clear that he holds a special place in the hearts of Mavs fans everywhere. As they said in the video, KP will forever be part of the Mavs family.
