The Dallas Mavericks are hosting the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday night in a matchup chalk full of super stars. It was noted earlier Tuesday that the Mavs get Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic from injury. Porzingis was already making his presence felt.

Early in the 2nd quarter, he showed off the skills that made him such an anomaly when he entered the league.

With an 8-point lead, Nets' guard James Harden drove but has his shot swatted away by Porzingis. ‘The Unicorn,' as he is known, grabbed the board and went the other way. In transition, Porzingis found a cutting Tim Hardaway Jr. for an alley oop jam.

Porzingis already has six points, six rebounds, five assists, a block and a steal early in the 2nd quarter.

When he entered the league back in 2015, Porzingis was doing stuff the NBA had never seen. Never before was someone 7'3” able to shoot, pass and move on the court like Porzingis. In recent years, injuries have curtailed his career.

He has not played more than 66 games since 2016 with a wide range of issues.

This season, Porzingis has looked almost as good as when he first dominated the league. He is averaging 20 points, eight rebounds, almost two blocks and a steal per game. His presence on both ends of the court makes a big difference for the Mavs.

He missed the last two games with a left knee contusion. The Mavs also got star guard Luka Doncic back Tuesday night ahead of their pivotal matchup against the Eastern Conference leaders, the Brooklyn Nets.
