Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has already detailed his plans on how to utilize versatile big man Kristaps Porzingis. And according to the head coach, their newly acquired player will be a good passer.

Per Callie Caplan of Dallas Morning News, Carlisle is already thinking about how he'll use Porzingis once he returns back from an ACL tear he suffered over a year ago. For Carlisle, the 7-foot-3 Latvian's mobility and skill set will make him a good passer.

“With his skill-set and the way he moves the court, I believe he's going to be a good passer,” Carlisle said. “He'll be a four on offense most of the time, but on defense, I think he's got the flexibility to play both positions.”

Though Kristaps Porzingis hasn't played this season, he's been practicing with the club since March. Rick Carlisle revealed that the 23-year-old has been teaming up with the starters.

“My hope is to have another live practice [Thursday] and involve him in that,” the Mavs coach said. “He's playing with the starters, with that group, which I think is just a good thing for everybody.”

Once the Mavs sealed the trade last January, analysts quickly tagged the team as an up-and-coming contender. Not only do they have Luka Doncic who has tremendous upside, but they now have an elite talent in Porzingis.

Suddenly, the Mavericks have two star players in their roster. Will Carlisle's tactics pave the way for another Mavericks championship campaign?
