The Dallas Mavericks continued their coaching overhaul as they hired Los Angeles Sparks' Kristi Tolliver to help Jason Kidd unlock the true potential of the Luka Doncic-led team.
The hiring was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, he stated that even though the WNBA player is still under contract with the Sparks, the recent hiring would not impact her playing career.
Toliver is under contract with the Sparks through the 2022 season and an NBA coaching job wouldn’t impact her playing career.

On her social media account, Tolliver tweeted something that clearly showed how excited she is to be a part of the Mavs' coaching staff.
Thank you all for the love and support entering this new journey with the @dallasmavs. So thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get to work. #MAVS

Toliver might be excited to coach and be a part of Luka Doncic's journey as the Mavs' star is already a superstar despite just being 22 years old.
Picking the brain of a brilliant mind in Mavs head coach Kidd will surely help the WNBA star with her coaching career. Another brain worth picking is Luka's as he has shown everyone how high his basketball IQ is after averaging 7.7 assists in his first three seasons with Dallas.
Before joining the Mavericks, Toliver was a full-time assistant coach for the Washington Wizards.
The 12th-year veteran is a two-time WNBA champion, four-time Russian National League champion, two-time EuroLeague champion, and NCAA champion with Maryland. She won the title with the Sparks in 2016 and shortly afterward left to join the Washington Mystics.
