NBA legend Steve Nash has completely roasted former Dallas Mavericks teammate Dirk Nowitzki for the latter's look during a hiking trip.

Nash posted a photo of Nowitzki via Twitter, comparing Dirk to “The Lord of the Rings” character Gandalf the Grey. One look at the side-by-side photo, and you'll get exactly what Nash is getting at here:

While Dirk's beard certainly isn't on Gandalf's level, it's the huge staff he's holding that takes this to another level.

It's a shame Nash did not post a photo of himself, so we could also get a glimpse of which movie character he's impersonating these days. Not to worry, because we'll be sure to monitor Nowitzki's social media accounts for any and all revenge posts aimed at his good buddy.

These two legends spent six season as teammates with the Mavs. Despite staying together for more than half a decade, each and every Dallas fan will tell you that their union was cut short prematurely.

Even Mavs owner Mark Cuban himself has expressed on numerous occasions how he regrets not keeping this pair together. Recently, the billionaire admitted again that letting Nash walk as a free agent in 2004 is the biggest regret of his life as a team owner.

Nevertheless, Nowitzki and Nash have remained extremely close friends despite their parting of ways, and as made evident by this recent exchange, both guys are enjoying life in retirement right now.
