Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has nothing but amazing things to say about Dirk Nowitzki ahead of the Dallas Mavericks icon's jersey retirement on Wednesday.

Kerr and his Warriors will be sharing the memorable day as they face the Mavs at American Airlines Center. With that said, the Dubs tactician made sure to honor the German legend in his pre-game media availability.

“I want to congratulate Dirk on his Jersey retirement. One of my favorite players, and the greatest international player of all-time,” Kerr said of Nowitzki, per Landon Buford of Forty Eight Minutes.

Steve Kerr also recalled his favorite memories with Dirk Nowitzki, one of which actually didn't happen on the court. Apparently, they accidentally met at a bar when the Warriors coach just retired, and it was then when he got to learn more about the Mavs great.

Also, Kerr got to coach Dirk in the All-Star Game in 2015, something that he certainly won't ever forget.

“It happened after I retired and I was working NBA on TNT and it was at a All-Star game. I ended up at the same bar as Dirk got to get to know him a little bit. I also got to coach him in 2015 during his final All-Star games,” Kerr added.

For what it's worth, the Warriors coach also had a little gesture to honor Nowitzki further, wearing a “No. 41” pin for the celebration.

The Mavs will surely be hoping to get the win against the red-hot Warriors so as not to spoil the momentous day. As for Kerr and the Warriors, they can only give it their all like how Dirk went all-out for the Dallas franchise.
