Memphis Tigers coach Penny Hardaway isn't going to back away from his “we want all the smoke” comments he made awhile back. Then again, who can blame him, as the Tigers are bringing in arguably the best group of freshmen in the entire country.

Fresh off the heels of saying he believes the Memphis Tigers are a national title contending team, when asking about the previous smoke comments, Hardaway doubled down.

“All that means to us is we’re not afraid to play anybody,” Penny Hardaway said, via the Commercial Appeal. “We’re not intimidated and we’re not afraid to play anybody. If that offends people, then that’s crazy because we’re supposed to be confident in who we are and we’re in this to win and that’s what we’re going to be. And I’m going to keep that mindset because that’s who I am.”

Even their official Twitter account is down for this:

It is possible the Memphis Tigers start five freshmen this season, including No. 1 overall prospect James Wiseman. Oddly enough, without a single game yet to be played, NBA gurus have begun to sour on the big's draft prospects, but that's the game in the social media era.

Nevertheless, fully expect a college basketball loving nation to enjoy all the smoke Memphis Tigers coach Penny Hardaway wants. This is going to be fun.
