The Michigan football team just won the national championship a few months ago, and they are now hoping that will result in recruiting success. However, the Wolverines are also going through a coaching change, and that makes things a little more challenging. We are still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but things have been relatively quiet for Michigan so far. They have picked up some good commitments, but not a lot of them. However, things might start to heat up for the Wolverines soon.

One recruit that will be visiting Michigan football soon is four-star safety Jordan Young. Jordan Young is a four-star prospect and the #44 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class according to 247Sports. He is the #4 safety and the #3 player in the state of North Carolina. Young currently attends Monroe High School in Monroe, North Carolina.

Jordan Young will be in Ann Arbor in June for a visit as he tweeted out that he will be taking an official visit. Young will also be taking official visits to Florida State, Clemson and NC State, and he is expected to add some more as well. Based on what Young said to On3, it sounds like these schools have the current advantage.

“There’s three or four teams that have an advantage right now,” Young said. “Some schools have to catch up a little bit. But those other schools that are not in it right now, they still have a chance.”

Young took a visit to Ann Arbor in April after he was offered, and some Michigan coaches also visited him at his high school. Young had good things to say about the Wolverines.

“That trip made a big impact on me because I was able to get down there and see if I liked it or not and I really liked it,” Young said. “They’re very transparent with you and I really like the place.”

The Michigan football team currently has five commitments in their 2025 recruiting class, and it is ranked 36th in the country. The Wolverines' class is currently ranked ninth in the Big Ten, but expect that to change. It is still very early in the class, and Michigan has a lot of time to land more commitments.

It will be interesting to see how this class shakes up for Michigan. They just won it all, but they also just lost their head coach. A lot can happen.
