The offseason moves for the Atlanta Hawks have already started.

After it was reported that the organization is “undergoing a period of evaluation and looking at how basketball operations works best,” Mike Budenholzer will be vacating his position as president of basketball operations, while Wes Wilcox will be reassigned to another high-ranking front office role, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The development comes after the team was recently eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Washington Wizards in six games. It is believed that the moves made are part of their plans to bring more success in the future and also to change their culture.

Both Budenholzer and Wilcox have held their front office positions since 2015 and helped the Hawks complete two straight winning seasons, as well as playoff appearances. However, they haven't gone past the second round, despite having a very talented roster.

This summer, the team will have big decisions to face, especially on their All-Star forward Paul Millsap, who is slated to become a free agent. Although Budenholzer made it clear that they are committed to re-signing him, they can also opt to start rebuilding without him and plan for their future.

It remains to be seen what effect their front office shakeup would have on their ability to offer a contract extension to Millsap, as well as sign big name free agents, but if there's one thing certain at this point, more moves can be expected from the Hawks, both on player and management personnel.
