Scott Rolen has been elected to the MLB Hall of Fame, per Jeff Passan. Rolen, a 7-time All-Star, 8-time Gold Glove winner, and 2006 World Series champion is remembered as one of the best infielders in recent memory. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Cincinnati Reds during his 17-year career.

Rolen received 76.3 percent of the vote, narrowly surpassing the necessary 75 percent mark, per Bob Nightengale. Former Colorado Rockies' star Todd Helton fell just short with 72.2 percent.

Rolen began his career in 1996 with the Phillies. He produced all-around quality results in Philadelphia, winning Rookie of the Year in 1997 following a small sample size in '96 and earning his first Gold Glove award in 1998. Rolen made his first All-Star team during the 2002 campaign. He was dealt to the St. Louis Cardinals that season as well.

Scott Rolen emerged as a true star in St. Louis. He made 4 consecutive All-Star teams from 2003-2007, earning 3 more Gold Gloves during that time span. As aforementioned, he led the Cardinals to a World Series victory in 2006.

For his career, Rolen slashed .281/.364/.490 to go along with an .855 OPS and 316 home runs. He was always a steady offensive contributor, and he was amongst the best third baseman in the league.

Scott Rolen will join Fred McGriff in the MLB Hall of Fame Class in 2023.

The inclusion of Scott Rolen in the Hall of Fame is exciting. However, former PED users such as Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens remain out of Cooperstown. Additionally, Alex Rodriguez has yet to get in either.
